Poetry Workshop For Oxfordshire Teachers

A workshop on Helping Primary Pupils with Poetry Writing, led by John Foster, is being held for Oxfordshire teachers at West Kidlington School from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm on Thursday 9th February.

ARCh - Assisted Reading for Children in Oxfordshire

John Foster has recently become a patron of ARCh and will be giving a talk on using poetry to develop children’s reading and writing at the ARCh AGM on Thursday 7th July.

He also wrote a poem about ARCh’s work to support a bid for funding from The CTK Foundation Heart and Soul 2011 Grant Award. The poem won second prize – a grant of $5000.

Poetry Competition

John Foster has been invited to judge the Bookfeast Annual Creative Writing Competition 2012, run in association with Blackwell’s. This year the form is poetry and the theme is the Environment.

Entrants must be in Key Stage 2 in a school in either Oxfordshire. Berkshire or Buckinghamshire in 2011-12 and the entries are to be judged in two groups – one group for school years 3 and 4 and one group for school years 5 and 6.
